How Microblading can Help Accentuate the Brow
They can make or break your look. Brows have often been considered a symbol of youth and beauty. If you’re fed up of filling in your brows with pencils and creams, there’s a solution at hand. Microblading uses ink to mimic natural hairs providing fuller brows.
Semi-permanent solution
“Microblading is an advanced method of non-surgical creation of the eyebrow. It works in the same way as a traditional tattoo except that individual hairs of the eyebrow can be seen. We have started offering this service in the last three months with a very good response,” says Dr Mohan Thomas, Senior Cosmetic Surgeon, Cosmetic Surgery Institute and Breach Candy Hospital. It is recommended for women who have no eyebrows at all as this method will give them a natural looking brow, men and women who want their eyebrows to look more dense and fuller and those who would like to change the way their eyebrows look every year, as this is a semi-permanent technique.
Gives a natural effect
Dr Apratim Goel, dermatologist and laser surgeon, Cutis skin studio, explains the procedure. “After a thorough consult with your aesthetician, local anesthetic cream is applied to numb the area and make the procedure virtually pain-free. The area to be worked upon is meticulously outlined, followed by the use of a manual pen-like device, comprising 7+ micro-needles to etch strokes and deposit the pigments. Approximately 35 strokes are carved on each side and if more is required, it is covered during the touch up session, generally four weeks later. Whereas traditional tattooing uses needles on a rotary/ coil machine to push ink seven layers deep into the skin, microblading uses a manual blade and only targets three layers of skin. It creates subtle, natural-looking brows by mimicking the strokes of eyebrow hairs.”
Make a difference
Anyone who wants to emphasize their brows will love this procedure and the time saved of not having to pencil them in, says Dr Geeta Oberoi, dermatologist and founder, Skin and You clinic. “Once the procedure is complete, for the initial few days you are advised not to go under water or for sauna baths as there are chances of tattoo fading. It is best to avoid such activities. Choose between a soft texture look or hair simulation. If you have no brow hair or sparse brows due to over-plucking, then the difference balanced brows can make is amazing.”
